Moonlit Lguazu

Sale price£350.00

Size: The pearl chain (excluding the pendant) has an outer layer length of approximately 460mm and an inner layer length of approximately 35mm.

The pendant is 90 x 38mm, with the longest tassel measuring 67mm.

Materials: Glass pearls, Alloy, Zircon

This necklace can be worn in two ways. You can wear the pearl chain at the front, letting the tassels dangle elegantly at the back of your neck, transforming it into a graceful Sautoir necklace.

Alternatively, you can wear the silver tassels in the front, perfect for pairing with low-cut tops or dresses.

The term Sautoir comes from "To Jump" and refers to a long necklace adorned with pendants or long tassels. This style of necklace was popular in European royal courts as early as the 19th century.

It was a significant symbol of status and nobility, and Queen Mary, the wife of King George V, was a devoted fan of the Sautoir necklace.

The style has remained popular to this day, especially as seen in Downton Abbey, where the Sautoir necklace highlights the elegance and charm of women.

This particular Sautoir necklace is composed of four layers of pearls, with a silver geometric pendant in the center. The pendant features a hollow snowflake pattern that sparkles beautifully, and the dangling teardrop-shaped tassels resemble melting snowflakes.

The striking Art Deco style brings to mind the jazz era of the 1920s, a period of luxurious decadence, reminiscent of the graceful and beautiful women in The Great Gatsby.
